How to Download & Install Power BI

Introduction

To begin your Power BI journey, you'll first need to download the Power BI Desktop application. It's a free tool provided by Microsoft, and the process is simple:

Open your preferred browser and search for "Power BI Download" on Google.
Locate the official Microsoft website in the search results (usually the first link) and click on it.
On the Microsoft Power BI page, click the button labeled "Download PBI Desktop."

Locate and click the 'Download PBI Desktop' button on the Microsoft website.

Now that you've clicked the download button, follow these steps to proceed:

After clicking "Download PBI Desktop," you'll be redirected to the Microsoft Store.
In the Microsoft Store window, find the "Install" button and click it to begin the installation process.
Wait for the download and installation to complete. This may take a few minutes depending on your internet speed.

Once Power BI Desktop is successfully installed, you’ll see the “Open” button in the Microsoft Store. While you could open it here, we recommend skipping this step for now. Instead, you'll open Power BI directly by clicking on the CraftedBI template file in your downloads.

This ensures you start with the CraftedBI environment rather than an empty workspace, making your experience seamless.
